Also, clenching your fists continuously during the fight requires your muscle to work, which wastes energy. Keep your hands loose until the last moment before impact.

Breathe properly ? This requires you to be well conditioned. Respiration process burns fuel so the more you suck air into your lungs, the more energy it requires you to release it.

Never eat right before the fight ? Digestion burns a lot of energy so unless you are planning to lose, eat long enough before you step into the ring so that the digestion process is done and your energy is used for the fight.

Basic Boxing Punches

It is a vertical punch that rises when thrown and usually targets the chin and torso. Uppercuts can be set up with a jab or thrown in combination.

A single punch is not enough to bring your opponent to the canvas. Once you learn the basic punches, you need to learn how to use it properly. Combination is crucial as it allows you to throw several punches, which increases the odds of hitting your opponent.

In theory a boxer should be able to thrown several punches in succession without losing his balance. By learning different combinations, not only you throw punches, you also throw it without making yourself vulnerable by your lack of balance.

He was an English champion for four years and he helped recreate boxing fights, minus the usual anything-goes crudeness. And so, it was partially thanks to him that boxing eventually outgrew its marathon-like set-up, its crudity, and its characteristics that lent championship to boxers who were not actually skilled in boxing but were only cunning enough to defeat their opponents.

From this period, succession of developments occurred which led to the current system of boxing we have nowadays.
